[ anyway. memory time. the setting looks odd, and wwx will get the sense that this is a place that's rather special, even if he doesn't know why. the only other person there is a woman, and she seems to be in a conversation with the person he's seeing this as.
"You are only delaying the invetiable, Grune. This will do nothing," says the woman in black.
"It will do enough," says who is presumably grune. except... she doesn't sound like grune. the usual airy monotone is replaced by a more stern, professional tone that would be hard to recognize if grune's name wasn't mentioned before.
"Then you too shall return to nothing."
what proceeds is a battle, and i don't have a video for this so i'm crying, but it's very Magic, probably, aki i'm crying. in the end, the person whose perspective it is wins the battle, and she leaves the other woman trapped in this place. but wwx will start to feel weak... and like his memory is slipping more and more until...
[wow now he feels like an asshole for just assuming grune was a natural airhead instead of a victim of bimbofication
It's a terrible sensation - that feeling of his memories slipping farther and farther away, try as he might to keep hold of them. The battle isn't unfamiliar in every way, at least, even if he hadn't recognized the particular spells being used or the person standing before him that he had been so determined to fight. But that? That sense of loss? Deeply unsettling, to say the least.
There's a moment or two of silence as he regains his bearings once the memory fades, his own sense of self and awareness flooding back in instead. The look he gives Grune is difficult.]
He's also at a loss, though! For once! Rare moments when his motormouth actually shuts up! He's scrutinizing her expression carefully as the barrier dissolves around them and the door to the second floor finally opens with a ding!]
So she's still out there, doing whatever it was she was doing before? Or-- well, I suppose if she's trapped it's not as big of a concern, but... Do you think she might be able to get out?
[i can't believe grune is going to spend all her braincell bucks in this one conversation]
Did she have something to do with it, then? Or was it just-- conditional, something like that?
[He's still trying to parse through exactly what happened, but it's pretty difficult considering how sliced out of context the memory itself was and how it... ended...]
So... It's possible that the force of power you had to use to seal her away there was enough to strip your memories from you? Well - seems like more than something as simple as a one-time memory wipe. You still have trouble remembering things even now.
[Like damn she just got socked with a permanent concussive brain injury, but with magic??]
[why are you and grune like this. both of you, bad.]
I don't think I'll be changing my mind any time soon on this particular matter, but good to know! ...Don't go trying to clock yourself over the head with anything either, alright? Especially without supervision.

Was that normal?

[But like, every time it happened lots of people died SO THERE'S THAT. It's fine.]

...Guessing that was new for both of us.

grune simply nods, her expression a mixture of confusion and... something else that's a little hard to read. she rests a hand against her cheek. ]
My... yes, it was.
[ she's not sure what to say next. ]

He's also at a loss, though! For once! Rare moments when his motormouth actually shuts up! He's scrutinizing her expression carefully as the barrier dissolves around them and the door to the second floor finally opens with a ding!]
Do you-- [Hm.] ...Did it jog your memory any?
no subject
Her name is Schwartz. I have to fight her, I think...?
[ it's still mostly a blank, though, especially the reason why.
but this is still a lot more than she knew before. ]
I think we've been at it for a long time.
no subject
A long time? [Well. Her profile does simply say "she forgot" as her age.]
How long...? And do you remember why you needed to fight her? That looked like the end of a fight, though.
[How can they still fight if Grune can't remember shit anyway, hm. Bad.]
no subject
[ his concerns are all very real and valid. ]
I'm not... really sure why? Maybe it'll come back to me... but I think she's doing something bad. Probably.
no subject
So she's still out there, doing whatever it was she was doing before? Or-- well, I suppose if she's trapped it's not as big of a concern, but... Do you think she might be able to get out?
no subject
... possibly. It seemed like that was when my memory got all fuzzy! I didn't think I'd figure that out.
no subject
Did she have something to do with it, then? Or was it just-- conditional, something like that?

It was exhausting...

[ grune it's your life, not a soap opera. ]
... I wonder if I could remember the rest of it...
no subject
...You might be able to, if you keep touching those items that show up. Though there's no way to guarantee exactly which memories you'd be seeing.
no subject
[ she doesn't want to force people to share memories just because she's curious about her own. ]
no subject
[If only things were that simple!! But Grune is soft, bless.]
no subject
Thank you, I'm not sure if I would have made much sense of this if I were on my own.
no subject
I just wish I could help you a little more. If we could figure out what it is that's keeping your memory from returning to its usual functionality...
[Do not let him get his mind hooked on this idea or he Will try to find a way to bring Grune's memory back (too late).]
no subject
[ she taps her chin thoughtfully. ]
Perhaps if I hit my head?
[ no ]
no subject
No, no - let's not go trying anything drastic when we only have a few first aid kits floating around.
no subject
[ this isn't an innuendo i feel like i need to clarify because of this cursed game ]

So I'm sure there must be some other way.
